This position is primarily located in the Biltmore Park instructional site in Asheville, NC. Western Carolina University seeks a Nurse Anesthetist to teach in the Nurse Anesthesia program in the School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Sciences. Anticipated begin date will be summer semester, June 2025. This is a full-time (1 FTE), 12 month, fixed-term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice. The ideal candidate will possess both excellent clinical and teaching skills. The School expects the successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, and ability to teach and develop online and traditional courses, participate in anesthesia simulation, advise DNP students and chair DNP projects, participate in committees, and other university activities.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to public engagement through their teaching, service, and scholarship.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
- Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in nursing or related field. National certification as a CRNA required; licensure or eligibility for RN licensure/CRNA practice in NC; current CPR, PALS and ACLS certification. A candidate who is an experienced CRNA, enrolled in a doctoral program, and close to completion may be considered. Doctorate must be completed by the end of August 2025.
