Delivering the Role
- Responsible for the performance of Shops in your Area, delivering outstanding performance across Customer, Financial, People and Operational KPIs.
- Work to constantly drive down waste and inefficiency, reviewing and adapting procedures to improve efficiency and maximise output, sharing best practice with colleagues.
- Focus on continuously driving sales performance by understanding strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats both internally and externally.
- Pro-active to respond quickly and appropriately when threats and opportunities arise.
- Identifies trends requiring action within your P&L, understanding the cause and demonstrating the ability to develop suitable strategic plans.
- Monitor and manage labour%, budget hours, waste targets and performance across Shops, to ensure the right balance of product availability, customer service and efficiency.
- Develops high performing teams, identifying key skills’ gaps and putting development plans in place to address these and grow talent.
- Recruit new colleagues and effectively manage performance through HR procedures and Company policies.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with teams by understanding and addressing individual motivations, needs, and concerns.
- Monitor financial processes and audit Shops invoicing, ordering and banking, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Cooplands policies and procedures, to ensure successful Shop performance and the highest levels of food safety and hygiene.
- Audit stock control across Shops, ensuring accuracy, identifying losses and investigating where concerns are identified.
- Communicate promotional offers to teams, ensuring they have all the tools needed to manage a successful promotion to maximise sales.
- Regularly visit your Shops to ensure they are all compliant with agreed standards, running efficiently and to the highest standards of customer service, product availability and presentation.
- Ensures shops look vibrant, presentable, clean and have a great atmosphere at all times.
- Use local market knowledge to identify and act upon trading opportunities.
- Anticipate future challenges and implement action plans to improve and maintain performance.
Key Skills, Know How & Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience working in an area/field management role.
- Highly motivated and target driven, with strong commercial skills.
