The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.

Fully responsible for all aspects of design for assigned projects and portfolio of projects, including managing resources and engineering outputs, both internal and external. Responsible for CDM Principal Designer duties under the delegation of the Design / Senior Design Manager. Ensure technical outputs meet the requirements of the Totex Delivery Process as well as project affordability within timescales agreed with the project team. Provide technical support during assembly as required.

Key Accountability 1 – Delivery of Design

  • Deliver complete designs as required by the @one Alliance procedures and project needs, under the guidance of the Design Manager / Senior Design Manager.
  • Develop and embrace BIM360 and 3D models for all projects to facilitate data manipulation and site construction without 2D drawings.
  • Utilize and adopt standard products and include multi-disciplinary design, including external design work.
  • Ensure all design work complies with standards and specifications, coordinating with the Design Manager and PDM on technical matters.
  • Monitor technical team progress with the IPL and PDM, advise on deviations, and manage design changes and queries according to process.
  • Adhere to the Alliance quality systems, ensure proper checking and approval of deliverables, and maintain records on Livelink for handover to AWS.
  • Collaborate with teams to reduce waste and minimize carbon footprint through design choices and materials.
  • Manage enabling aspects of Infrastructure work and apply the Risk, Opportunity & Value process to optimize solutions.

Key Accountability 2 – Excellence in Health & Safety

  • Promote health and safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks, completing risk assessments, and complying with CDM procedures.
  • Inform and involve the CDMC at the start of design, and agree on the CDM strategy for all relevant project reviews and documentation.

Key Accountability 3 – Design Planning

  • Plan technical aspects of projects, agree on stage plans with the IPL/PDM, and ensure delivery within those plans.
  • Work with Discipline Heads to assign appropriate design resources, matching skills to project demands, and manage resource costs throughout the project.

Key Accountability 4 – Collaboration/Stakeholder Management

  • Manage key technical stakeholders, including operations, construction managers, and commissioning teams, acting as the main interface between design and project teams.
  • Organize and attend technical review meetings, ensure effective communication with the supply chain, and coordinate enabling activities.
  • Maintain communication with the IPL and PDM, report issues proactively, and support progress tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Accountability 5 – Transformation/Team Development

  • Leverage team skills and knowledge, foster continuous improvement, and support team motivation and focus during challenging times.
  • Mentor less experienced staff, conduct technical reviews, and assist in staff development and performance evaluations.
