Main duties of the job As the Mental Health, Children and Young People, ASD, and Dementia Programme Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing and driving forward key initiatives across mental health, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, dementia, and children and young people’s services within Hammersmith and Fulham. Your role will involve: Programme Leadership : Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, integrated services that meet the needs of individuals across these areas. Collaboration : Work closely with colleagues from various sectors, including local authorities, NHS services, social care, and community groups, to shape and improve services for people in the borough. Strategic Planning : Develop and implement strategies that align with the Hammersmith and Fulham partnership\’s priorities and the broader North West London programme of work. Service Improvement : Drive continuous service improvements, ensuring that services are responsive, effective, and person-centred. Person specification Knowledge, Training and Experience Educated to masters’ level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area. Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent. Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development. Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy in London and appreciate the implications of this on engagement. Should have an appreciation of the relationship between NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations. Project and programme management qualifications. Understanding of contracting and commissioning approaches within primary care, NHS Trusts, Better Care Fund, voluntary sector and local authorities, as well as ICB and Borough-Based Partnerships at Place. Understanding and experience of procurement and bid-evaluation for NHS and health and care services, including from voluntary and independent sector providers. Understanding of Standing Financial Instructions, audit and other governance. Confidentiality of patient information, data security issues and other data protection governance. Communication Skills Developed communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) to the organisation, some at very senior level. Good presentational skills for conveying complex concepts. Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others. Analytical Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions and to resolve problems in relation to project or service delivery. Ability to understand a broad range of complex information quickly and make decisions where opinions differ/no obvious solution.
