In this role, you will coordinate logistics activities related to the project's marine operations, material deliveries, daily coordination, and emergency preparedness for our On-island project. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely deployment of assets to support onshore logistics and on-island construction, including delivery of critical substation components, cable systems, and large equipment.
What will you do?
- Plan and coordinate material supply logistics from the supplier point of dispatch to project sites and associated marine/offshore delivery points.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to manage vessel chartering, port handling, storage and offloading operations for large or sensitive equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers, engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure logistical readiness aligns with project milestones.
- Monitor HSE compliance, technical integrity, and availability of chartered marine logistics assets.
- Support emergency preparedness related to marine and site logistics.
- Overseeing inventory control and ensuring the accuracy of all orders.
- Developing strategies to improve the supply chain and meeting customer needs.
- Negotiating contracts with carriers and suppliers.
- Monitor and report on logistics KPIs, cost tracking, and supplier performance.
- Handle external factors such as weather conditions, site access limitations, or capacity constraints that may affect deliveries or operations.
- Ensure alignment with Linxon’s agreements, commercial terms, and supplier capabilities.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders – including project managers, suppliers, port authorities, and logistics providers.
- Be available for on-call logistics support or weekend duty rotations (if applicable).
- Perform site visits to ports, project locations, and vessel operations as required.
- Travel to project sites and ports / Marine basis as required.
- Develop and maintain good relationships towards both internal stakeholders and external contractors.
- Have a commercial mindset, understand and utilise relevant agreements regarding operational needs.
- Understand the challenges with capacity on offshore / on-island installations and find the best logistic solution.
Education Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Maritime Operations, or related.
Other Experience Required:
- Good number of years of experience in site or marine logistics, preferably within EPC, renewables, or power infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of marine vessel operations, port handling, and offshore / On-island delivery logistics.
- Familiarity with construction logistics, project planning tools, and supplier coordination.
- Strong communication skills to interface with clients, port authorities, and contractors.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.
- Willingness to travel to ports, project sites, and vendor locations if required.
- Preferred experience and familiar with Lewis Island.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental standards in logistics operations.
