The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Ability to adopt a pragmatic approach to underwriting bridging loan mortgage applications in line with criteria, policy, and approved lending mandate. Understand and analyze key items such as credit searches, bank statements, financial accounts, property valuations, and business appraisals to make informed lending decisions. Ability to assess the applicant’s portfolio, where applicable, in line with PRA requirements. Deliver high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data input and all written communication. Develop solid rationale for cases outside of own lending mandate or company policy and communicate findings to Credit Risk department for consideration. Build successful relationships with external contacts (brokers, customers, surveyors, solicitors) and internal teams (administrators, completion officers, credit risk, finance) to ensure all lending requirements are satisfied before releasing funds. Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Manage a pipeline of approximately 55 cases through to completion, ensuring compliance with service standards and lending policies. Handle internal and external enquiries via phone and email efficiently and within company standards. Understand and apply company policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines daily to mitigate risks. Embrace principles of treating customers fairly and responsible lending in decision-making.
The Person
- Strong understanding of the specialist bridging finance and commercial mortgage sectors.
- Good knowledge of legal conveyancing.
- Experience working to tight deadlines.
- Experience in a regulated bridging environment (desired but not essential).
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of TCF (Treating Customers Fairly).
- Fully CeMAP qualified or willing to work towards.
- Understanding of compliance procedures within the mortgage industry.
- Ability to interpret financial accounts, valuations, business appraisals, and credit searches.
- Analytical and pragmatic approach to underwriting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
