The Opportunity
In the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) Business Excellence Chapter, we support together all PS Chapters, Portfolio Squads, and Communities, enabling scientists to focus on science. Collaboration and flexibility, paired with a can-do attitude and a growth mindset, are critical for success in this team. You will partner closely with your Business Excellence colleagues to provide key operational support to around 550 colleagues in the Pharmaceutical Sciences organisation. Our team’s success depends on working well with both people and technology, bringing the strengths of humans and AI together.
Within our Chapter, we enable the intersection of scientific understanding with business processes and operational skills. This approach enhances our ability to measure impact and resource investments, track progress, and make data-driven decisions using operational data for PS. An additional focus is to generate a positive impact on PS productivity with a sense of urgency and a commitment to continuous improvement. Augmenting process improvement and operational data management by incorporating this productivity AI profile will lead to further improved organisational efficiency across PS.
- Identify, design, and implement AI solutions, with the main focus in Generative AI, e.g. LLMs and AI-driven autonomous Agents, to streamline business processes and significantly reduce manual effort.
- Automate repetitive and complex tasks using AI solutions, enabling teams to concentrate on high-value strategic activities.
- Leverage advanced AI technologies and autonomous agents to solve complex business challenges and drive innovation across PS.
- Enhance data-driven decision-making through AI, e.g. by developing robust LLMs and intelligent agents capable of generating actionable insights from large and complex datasets.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and developers within Roche to ensure seamless integration and successful deployment of GenAI and agent-based technologies.
- Continuously refine and optimise AI models and autonomous agents to meet evolving business needs and Roche's quality standards.
- Actively contribute to the PS Data & Digital Network and PS Process Improvement Community of Practice to explore and develop new AI solutions.
Who You Are
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, IT, or Engineering, with pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Strong background in Generative AI, including LLMs, frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proficient in programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Java) and familiar with data tools like Alteryx, Snowflake, Tableau, or Spotfire.
- Proven track record managing AI projects from concept to deployment, with sound project management skills.
- Strong analytical thinker with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
- Collaborative and customer-focused, with excellent interpersonal skills and a team-first mindset.
- Comfortable with automation tools and techniques (e.g. API integration, RPA, UiPath) to drive productivity and efficiency.
