Technician - Supply Chain - 24 months FTC
Location: Onsite at Arqiva – Daventry

The role:
- Work to Safety, Health and Environment Policies, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation.
- Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the Arqiva Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and Arqiva assets.
- Evaluate, diagnose, repair and configure a broad range of highly specialised electronic and mechanical broadcast/telecommunication/networked equipment.
- Complete complex testing and measurements to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements.
- Responsible for testing, configuration and repairs of higher volume assets such as UPS's, MDU's, Power Supplies, Amplifiers, Fan Assemblies, specialised broadcast transmitters.
- Ensuring the quality of works from external suppliers meet precise and exact equipment specification and or customer expectations.
- Pre-test units to exact equipment specification when received as faulty, before returning to external suppliers for manufacturer repair.
- Accountable for fully updating company repair ERP System with accurate data including fault and repair resolution comments.
- Accountable for sharing of information across local and wider technical teams within the business.
- Responsible for self-managing workload, using internal data to prioritise repair schedule.
- Accountable for efficient repair timescales aligned with business goals.
- Accountable for highlighting technical issues of concern to Engineer or Senior Engineer.
- Commitment to engage and participate in Arqiva’s cultural goals of One Arqiva, Accountability and Curiosity.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills and technology to support the changing needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Grades C (or equivalent) or above in GCSE Maths, English, Sciences.
- Desirable: BTEC National Level 3 or equivalent in a related field.
- Desirable: Cisco CCST or CCT qualified.
Required Expertise:
- Experience of and highly competent fault finding and repair/replace to component and board level on a broad range of highly specialised Broadcast, Networked and Mechanical Products.
- Knowledge testing IP Networked or similar connected technologies.
- Experience using a wide range of Test Equipment including but not limited to Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Power Meters, Power Sensors, Frequency Counters.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products would be desirable.
Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s):
- Evidence of excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate natural curiosity.
- Able to demonstrate logical thinking and reasoning.
- Able to repair, test and configure specialised broadcast/telecommunication units (UPS's, MDU's, Power Supplies, Amplifiers, Fan Assemblies) using procedures and work instructions or under guidance.
- Able to upgrade/downgrade firmware/software and license options following procedures and work instructions.
- Experience of soldering electronic components to a high standard.
- Excellent technical knowledge of electronic and mechanical components.
- Excellent technical understanding of differing cable types and connectors.
- Working knowledge of SNMP desirable.
- Working knowledge of GPS desirable.
- Working knowledge of UHF and/or VHF signals, frequency, and systems desirable.
- Working knowledge of IP Networking desirable.
