An iconic public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Deputy Assistant Director of Human Resources for a 6 – 9 month contract. Based in central London, this contract will be offered at £800 per day umbrella (inside IR35).

You will lead a high quality, effective and responsive human resources and organisational development function, taking overall leadership on all HR issues including ED&I.

Principal accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement effective human resources strategies, plans and policies to ensure the long term development of the organisation.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure the organisation is recruiting, retaining and motivating the highest calibre of diverse staff.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Assistant Director of HR and senior managers in human resources management and organisational development.
  • Lead on the development of a cohesive and agile performance-based culture, developing the organisation’s approach to talent management and drive effective leadership of organisational change.
  • Develop and implement equalities, diversity and inclusion policies.
  • Represent them on human resources issues in its dealings with external bodies, to ensure that maximum benefit is derived through full participation and exchange of ideas and information.
  • Contribute to the corporate management through making the major contribution on people management issues including participating in multi-discipline, cross-departmental and cross-organisational groups and task teams.
Person Specification:
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive and high level strategic experience within human resources management.
  • A successful track record of leading a HR and OD function and achievement at a senior level in developing and implementing human resources and organisational development policies in a comparable high profile and complex organisation.
  • Able to operate in a political environment and quickly gain credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong public sector experience.
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering staff engagement and organisational development programmes to successfully improve employee engagement in an organisation.
  • Successful track record of staff management and ability to motivate a team of people to achieve a high level of performance, particularly in a changing organisational environment.
  • Proven success in developing and leading initiatives to improve equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
