We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factories and all the way to the customer door, covering a range of functions. We have processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated HR Advisor to join our HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity, based at our Brackley site. The role is office-based, working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, with flexibility required to support our twilight colleagues.

What will you be doing as a HR Advisor at Avara?

  • Ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service to all stakeholders, providing comprehensive and professional support on all people-related issues in line with policies, processes, and legal requirements.
  • Providing advice on ER matters and conducting investigations, grievances, and disciplinary hearings in line with company policies.
  • Guiding managers on Absence Policy and Procedures and supporting review meetings.
  • Managing long-term absence cases, including referrals to Occupational Health.
  • Managing maternity, paternity, adoption, and flexible working cases.
  • Processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
  • Supporting probationary review meetings.
  • Assisting with ethical audits and HR-related projects.
  • Responding to queries via phone and email.
  • Conducting exit interviews, analyzing data for trends.
  • Supporting recruitment processes and induction programs.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Up-to-date experience and confidence with Microsoft Office and HR packages.
  • Good knowledge of employment law.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards it (desirable).
  • Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Drive for performance improvement.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • High personal integrity, respect, and empathy.
  • Unionized environment experience (beneficial but not essential).
