We have processing sites across England and Wales, and an agricultural network of over 350 farms from North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated HR Advisor to join our HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity, based at our Brackley site. The role is office-based, working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, with flexibility required to support our twilight colleagues.
What will you be doing as a HR Advisor at Avara?
- Ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service to all stakeholders, providing comprehensive and professional support on all people-related issues in line with policies, processes, and legal requirements.
- Providing advice on ER matters and conducting investigations, grievances, and disciplinary hearings in line with company policies.
- Guiding managers on Absence Policy and Procedures and supporting review meetings.
- Managing long-term absence cases, including referrals to Occupational Health.
- Managing maternity, paternity, adoption, and flexible working cases.
- Processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
- Supporting probationary review meetings.
- Assisting with ethical audits and HR-related projects.
- Responding to queries via phone and email.
- Conducting exit interviews, analyzing data for trends.
- Supporting recruitment processes and induction programs.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Up-to-date experience and confidence with Microsoft Office and HR packages.
- Good knowledge of employment law.
- CIPD qualification or working towards it (desirable).
- Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Drive for performance improvement.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- High personal integrity, respect, and empathy.
- Unionized environment experience (beneficial but not essential).
