This is an exciting time to join ThickSkin and be part of shaping the future of theatre in the North West and beyond.

We are looking for a trustee with a background in accounting or financial management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working at Board or Senior Management level
  • Confidence to chair Finance sub-committee meetings
  • Ability to report to the wider board at regular meetings
  • Expertise in or willingness to learn about charity governance and finance

We welcome applications from everyone, particularly encouraging people who are usually under-represented in the theatre industry to apply.

Time commitment: The role is voluntary, with a commitment to attend four Board meetings and four Finance sub-Committee meetings per year. All meetings typically last two hours and are held via video call. We also hold one board ‘away day’ per year (personal travel expenses for non-local trustees are reimbursed). Between meetings, we may ask for attendance at events, advocacy, and ad hoc support. Appointments are for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years.

How to Apply: Visit www.thickskintheatre.co.uk/workwithus to submit a CV and a cover letter outlining your skills, experience, networks, and why you wish to become a ThickSkin Trustee. The deadline for applications is midday on Thursday, 26 June. Interviews will be scheduled during the weeks of 30 June and 7 July, at mutually convenient times.
