About Freja

Freja is the UK’s leading bone broth brand, and one of the fastest growing food businesses in the country. Freja operates in a niche but rapidly accelerating category. Bone broth is far from a trend, but it’s certainly fair to say it’s ‘trending’ at the moment – Google searches for ‘bone broth’ have grown by more than 300% in the last five years. Thanks to considerable celebrity endorsement and significant marketing investment in the category (to which Freja has contributed £1m+ in the last 12 months alone), consumers are becoming more aware of the benefits bone broth can offer them. As bone broth overlaps with many wellness concerns, from skincare and beauty to gut health and sports nutrition, it’s a product which can benefit consumers of all ages and interests. As people also become more aware of the negative impacts of ultra processed foods (UPFs), consumers are actively seeking out natural products as solutions for their problems.

About the Role

The business is transitioning from a pure DTC model into an omnichannel brand. The brand has already secured listings in major retailers such as Tesco, Holland & Barrett, Booths, Whole Foods & Ocado, yet the retail channel currently represents only 30% of total company revenue, so there’s plenty of room for growth.

The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing key grocery retailer accounts on a national level, driving sales, fostering long-term relationships, and ensuring the company\’s products are effectively positioned in the marketplace. This role involves collaboration across multiple departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain, to achieve revenue targets and maximize business growth.

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of national grocery accounts, ensuring that relationships are maintained and strengthened.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sales and profitability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, handling all day-to-day account management responsibilities.
  • Monitor account performance, identify growth opportunities, and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotional programs, and contract terms in line with corporate objectives.
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure seamless product delivery and effective in-store promotions.
  • Regularly report on account performance, sales achievements, and market insights to senior management.

About you

Our approach to business can be summarised as High Trust, High Output, No Burnout.

We operate with a huge degree of flexibility, trust and autonomy, and in return we look for initiative, accountability and ownership.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4-5 years of experience in national account management, sales, or a similar role in the grocery or consumer goods industry.
  • A proven track record of success in managing larger accounts and delivering sales growth.
  • Experience in negotiating JBP’s, contracts, managing pricing strategies, and executing national promotional programs.
  • A passion for food, nutrition, health and fitness.
  • You will be able to stay ahead of key trends, best practice and the competitor landscape.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to play a key role in a growing challenger brand.
  • A chance to progress professionally as we rapidly grow our business.
  • Proper responsibility for a strategically important area.
  • Competitive salary + company performance bonus + share options.
  • Hybrid remote-first role, with regular face to face meetings.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
  • The tech you need to get the job done.
  • Allocated budget and time off for personal and professional training and development.
