This hybrid position offers remote work flexibility with occasional in-person collaboration, supporting a balanced and effective workflow. Operations tasks related to supporting infrastructure for on-premises and cloud deployments include:
- Problem solving, capable of identifying and resolving issues, being able to see the big picture.
- Eager and willing to learn new technologies and skills.
- Perform operational tasks including, but not limited to SW/HW installations, upgrades, and more.
- Configuration of servers, networking equipment, and cloud resources.
- Creation and integration of tools for internal and/or external consumption.
- Troubleshoot, design and deploy advanced L2 and L3 Networks.
- Track issues through to resolution.
- Service, analysis and resolution of tasks and support tickets.
- Prioritise and manage several open tasks at one time.
- Escalate issues to the next level, as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Participate in training customers, as required.
- Document processes and update knowledge base.
- Work closely with senior members of the Support, Operations, DevOps and Engineering teams.
What you bring:
- 7+ years experience in administration, configuration, and tuning of Linux systems (Ubuntu/Debian and/or CentOS/RHEL), and Virtualization/cloud environments (VMware/Openstack/AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS/Object).
- Solid scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Solid understanding and experience in network design, CCNA level or equivalent and configuration of network devices (switches, firewalls, routers).
- Solid troubleshooter, ability to read logs and identify root cause.
- Identifying and troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues.
- Excellent communication skills including prior client-facing experience in the areas of support, and IT operations.
- Excellent team player.
Your education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science/Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with systems and technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid experience with microservices (Docker, K8S).
- Solid experience in storage technologies and protocols (RAID, NFS, SMB, iSCSI, FC, S3, Swift).
- Hands-on experience in OpenStack (managing and troubleshooting).
- Solid experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with configuration management systems (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- At least CCNA-level experience in Networking Administration.
- L3 network equipment configuration (BGP, OSFP, etc.).
- Experience with iptables in Linux and network-level ACLs.
- Full-stack or backend developers are welcome.
