Job Description
Our Client is looking for Field Electrical Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Wokingham and offshore/overseas, the Field Electrical Technician will be responsible for offshore installation, commissioning, fault finding and interpretation of data for INTEGRI range of instrumentation, in line with project schedules and quality standards. This will include completing project deliverables for monitoring systems within the energy sector.
This role requires proven ability of maintaining a solid and positive communication with the Project Client, demonstrating the ability to identify, analyse and revert internally project queries deriving from the Client. Ability to work under pressure in order ensure the project deliveries are met and maintain a constant and close cooperation with the Project Manager and the project team.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Working onsite to install, commission and maintain systems which will include trips to offshore environments.
•Troubleshooting issues during offshore installation and maintenance.
•Working with Service Manager to deliver projects on time and within budget.
•Assembly and testing of systems. Includes working with engineering disciplines and operational / workshop technicians. Will include hands on testing and troubleshooting
•Documentation control, complying with internal processes and ISO9001 documentation control
•Communicating with internal offshore / operations teams and other 3rd party stakeholders, customers, and subcontractors.
•Working with the procurement manager for procuring of system components.
•Production of project documentation and reports as required.
•Control of rental equipment outgoing shipments, returns, servicing and re-stocking.
•Obtain understanding of system prior to deployment to installation site.
•Successful installation and commissioning of the project scope.
•Testing and installation of Hardware and software.
•Completion of Project Documentation – lessons learnt register, engineering non- conformance report, engineering change note, SIT report, installation report, maintenance report.
Required
•Have a right to work in the UK.
•HNC/HND in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Degree is preferred.
•Field Experience.
•Experienced within Termination of cables, power, and networking.
•Fault Finding experience within logical approach using multimeter, oscilloscope, current meter etc.
•Troubleshooting and capable of recommendation of remedy.
•IT Literate, Troubleshooting (Able to talk to local rep/client and convey info back to the base), IP addresses/DNS/NTP.
•PLC experience desirable.
•NMEA/MODBUS experience would be an advantage.
•Mechanical exposure desirable.
•Experienced within auditability of the installation reports etc, Daily Progress Reports
•Offshore training and certification would be preferred, this is not a necessity, full training and certification will be provided.
•Must be flexible and aware working offshore involves extended periods away from home including weekends and holidays.
•European visa/passport would be an advantage.
•Live within a commutable distance to Wokingham.
