For over 30 years, Gilead has been a leading innovator in treating and preventing HIV, but this expertise is just a foundation for our ambitions. As we continue to expand our scope into new disease states and new markets, we are transforming how we manage Indirect Procurement. We are redesigning our processes with a focus on simplification and user experience. This role sits within Gilead’s Global Procurement Organization (‘GPO’). This team partners with stakeholders across Gilead’s organization to deliver meaningful value by reshaping our supplier strategies and relationships for all indirect procurement spend.
The role will involve partnering with stakeholder groups at Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn sites in the UK, and providing limited sourcing support on high-value or strategically important projects for smaller international markets such as Australia & New Zealand. The job holder will support the development and implementation of global and local procurement strategies to deliver value to Gilead’s business. The responsibilities include:
- Liaising with Global Procurement Category Managers
- Supporting the development of global category strategies
- Driving local adherence
- Collaborating with UK and US stakeholders
- Liaising with GPO’s Services & Delivery Team
- Acting as a strategic thought partner
- Identifying opportunities to optimize spend
- Developing sourcing strategies
- Implementing RFPs
- Negotiating contracts
- Ensuring stakeholder satisfaction
Experience requirements include professional work experience in a similar capacity, a relevant degree or higher qualification, knowledge of procurement processes, leadership capabilities, negotiation skills, and fluency in English. Knowledge of European languages and experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry are desirable. This role reports to the GPO’s Director for ACE markets and supports commercial stakeholders within Australia, Canada, and Europe.
