Role/ Department The Guernsey Financial Reporting team has a senior accountant position open. The team is responsible for ensuring that the financial statements of a complex multi-billion dollar book of fiduciary clients within the Institutional Asset Owner & Global Family office fiduciary Team are prepared promptly, accurately, and to the highest standards. The key responsibilities of the role include Maintenance of accounting system records, including bank reconciliations and accruals accounting. Process is semi-automated and involves clearing exceptions. Preparation of financial reporting for client entities including Trusts and Companies, in accordance with best practice, relevant reporting standards and professional and regulatory requirements and on a timely basis. Liaison with relationship and account managers to ensure all key accounting activity has been captured and accounted for appropriately in accord with FRS102 / IFRS or relevant accounting standards. Coordination of the audit process (if necessary) Skills/ Qualifications The successful candidate will benefit from having: Thorough Knowledge of accounting standards (FRS102 / IFRS) and Guernsey Trust / Company Law. Experience in preparing accounts in a financial services / fiduciary environment. Experience of preparing accounts for consolidated groups (100% owned) would be an advantage. Proficient in using Excel at an Intermediate level, including pivot tables Accurate with attention to detail Qualified Accountant (CAT/ACCA or ACA) Working with Us: As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
