A great role has arisen for a Finance Manager on a 12 month FTC basis to join a blue-chip company based in Middlesbrough.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage cash forecasting, reporting, bank reconciliations, and cash book postings in line with group guidelines.
  • Lead the period-end timetable, ensuring timely completion of tasks, including reconciling key general ledger balances monthly.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of quarterly returns, including VAT and Waste Management.
  • Oversee the intercompany process and resolve related queries.
  • Manage ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliation.
  • Own the AR and AP processes for the Polymers sub-division.
  • Collaborate with commercial and financial teams to address and resolve financial issues.
  • Review and improve processes and systems for greater efficiency.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring compliance with IFRS16 within the sub-division.
  • Lead and mentor three direct reports, fostering their development and ensuring clear task delegation within the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experience supporting and influencing operational colleagues across multiple locations
  • Excel and Power BI skills are advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for strategic decision-making
  • Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics or waste industries an advantage
