The role:

  • As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Immerse yourself in dynamic projects while expanding your expertise.
  • Be part of the data exploitation team, uncovering opportunities to drive innovation through data-driven solutions.
  • Day-to-day, you’ll develop data visualization solutions for the Business Intelligence team using Power BI, Oracle, and SharpCloud, enhancing insights and decision-making with clear, dynamic representations.
  • Transform business requirements into impactful visualisations to support decision-making and dashboard/report development in the Marine sector.
  • Establish a framework for high-quality data visualisation outputs and share best practices with engineers and developers.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to ensure accurate data inputs while overseeing junior analysts.
  • Explore new technologies to continuously enhance data presentation for the business.

This role is full time 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience:

  • Proficient in Power BI or other data visualisation tools with a strong grasp of visual communication.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communicator, engaging across various business functions.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, database design, and ETL processes – Desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for or interest in a Business Intelligence Engineer role, ideally with a degree or equivalent in a numerate subject.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
