Head of Compliance - Commodities/Derivatives

The Head of Compliance will lead a team of six, overseeing all compliance functions for a commodities trading business focused on derivatives. Holding SMF16/17 responsibilities, this role ensures regulatory adherence, drives a robust compliance culture, and mitigates risks in a dynamic trading environment, with a preference for expertise in oil or energy commodities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement compliance policies. Oversee monitoring, reporting, and advisory functions for derivatives trading. Lead and mentor a small team in compliance. Serve as the primary regulatory contact, fulfilling SMF16/17 obligations. Conduct risk assessments and maintain controls for commodities trading activities. Advise senior leadership on regulatory changes and their impact. Deliver training to foster compliance awareness across the organisation. Candidate Profile: Proven compliance experience in trading houses (especially oil/energy), brokerages or market makers. Deep understanding of derivatives regulations and trading operations. Prior team management and SMF16/17 experience is highly desirable. Strategic, proactive thinker with resilience in high-pressure environments.
