The position involves working with students with learning disabilities and complex needs, with part-time hours (24 hours/3 days per week, 40 weeks per year). Salary ranges from £14,489 to £18,488 (up to £21,006 with QTS), with FTE salaries from £27,524 to £35,119 (up to £39,016 with QTS). Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering music sessions tailored to students\’ individual needs, using a bespoke RMT music curriculum as a guide. Encouraging students to prepare and perform music pieces at festivals and school performances. Assessing students\’ learning needs and making reasonable adjustments to facilitate achievement. Working creatively with various musical styles and acoustic instruments. Role modeling positive behaviors and attitudes. Supporting students\’ personal development and confidence through music. Collaborating with teachers, assistants, and therapists across disciplines. Preparing music for festivals and supervising rehearsals. Leading staff CPD sessions in singing and music fundamentals. Maintaining musical instruments and organizing the music room. This position may suit recent graduates in music therapy or world music. Ongoing CPD and mentoring are provided.
