A Japanese Food Importer/Wholesaler is looking for an Accountant. This is a permanent position based in Enfield with a salary of up to £30K.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Accounts Manager and through the Accounts team to implement all aspects of finance and accounts function.
- Assisting in the management, monitoring and reporting of all aspects of the Company’s financial and fiscal affairs.
- Assisting in the reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation and annual accounts.
- Deputising for the Accounts Manager and contributing to the overall success of the company.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead and motivate the Accounts team to carry out all tasks in a timely, accurate and correct fashion.
- Carry out training of Accounts staff.
- Produce monthly management accounts and information.
- Produce statutory audited financial accounts.
- Liaise closely with the Stock Control department to ensure accuracy of stock purchased and held.
- Implement and maintain systems and procedures and improve where necessary.
- Ensure that all accounting and fiscal processes comply with relevant current legislation and accounting procedures.
- Control expenditure and review/reduce where necessary.
- Adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
Key Deliverables:
- Accurate and on-time financial reports and management accounts on a regular and consistent basis.
- Development and management of a highly focused, well-trained and competent Accounts team.
- Strong and sound financial management.
- Development and maintenance of a strong relationship with key suppliers of funds and financial facilities to the company.
- Development of a close working relationship with the Accounts Manager.
Key Success Measures:
- Monthly Management Accounts and Reports on time and accurate.
- Production of statutory financial accounts on time and accurate.
- Production of management information and analysis on time.
- Compliance with all external authorities – PAYE, VAT and Duty.
- The development, improvement and efficiency of the Accounts department.
- Internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Team performance and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years Accounting Assistant experience.
- Fluent English; Japanese is an advantage.
