A market leading financial services and technology firm is seeking a senior data leader to shape and deliver the future state of its enterprise data capabilities. This newly created role will oversee the strategy, delivery and operation of a modern, scalable data platform estate, driving the organisation’s ambition to become a truly data enabled business.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Group Technology Leadership Team, this individual will be accountable for the engineering, governance and operational health of the firm's data platforms. The remit includes delivering a multi year modernisation roadmap, overseeing cloud and on premises environments, and building a data as a service culture that unlocks commercial value through trusted, accessible data.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver a forward thinking data platform and engineering strategy aligned to business and regulatory priorities
- Lead a high performing, multidisciplinary data technology function, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, operational resilience and delivery at pace
- Partner with executive leadership to embed data product thinking, platform service levels and governance frameworks across the organisation
- Oversee supplier and vendor relationships, budget management and technology risk in line with regulatory and operational resilience expectations
Candidate Profile
- Extensive leadership experience within data platform engineering, data architecture and governance at enterprise scale
- Proven track record delivering modern cloud based data infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS or multi cloud) within financial services, fintech or regulated digital businesses
- Gravitas and credibility to operate at Group Technology and Board level, influencing cross functional stakeholders and navigating complex organisational landscapes
- Deep technical fluency across modern data tools and methodologies, including APIs, real time analytics, feature stores and federated governance models
