Our Sustainability Advisory & Transaction Services team is experiencing significant growth, and we are seeking individuals to deliver best in class services to meet this demand. Consultants in ESG Advisory roles within ERM’s Sustainability Advisory & Transaction Services team work on a wide range of strategic and operational engagements for private market investors and their portfolio companies. Our work includes:
- Portfolio company onboarding
- Value creation identification and planning
- Green growth strategy
- Decarbonization planning & target setting
- Sustainable supply chain & procurement advisory
- Product life cycle assessments
- Human rights advisory
- Human capital consulting
- Sustainability claims and certification support
- Exit readiness
Positions will be involved in a variety of roles, including:
- Supporting our clients, the world’s foremost private market investors, in driving ESG integration, value creation, and impact performance improvements across portfolio companies.
- Working across ERM and the firm’s functions which brings together senior consultant executives across all sustainability disciplines to deliver leading operating capabilities and insights to our clients’ portfolio companies.
More Senior positions will be required to demonstrate and drive (to varying degrees) the following, with more junior roles supporting on project delivery as well as various aspects below:
- Lead and direct large, global projects, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability.
- Provide expert guidance on strategic ESG-related matters leveraging our global pool of subject matter experts.
- Drive innovation and growth within a dynamic team.
- Support the development and delivery of our client’s post-investment portfolio company ESG program, working alongside our clients’ ESG, investment, operating teams, and portfolio company management teams.
- Work with our clients to design and execute post-investment value creation plans and work with client teams to ensure completion of objectives in the broader portfolio and firm-level ESG goals and internal ESG operating capabilities.
- Provide insights, guidance and support to clients and portfolio company management on how to integrate ESG and impact into broader business practices and models to ensure long-term sustainable business value creation.
- Develop repeatable processes, frameworks, toolkits, assessment scorecards, and other materials for our clients and support their deployment across investment portfolios.
- Ensure ESG interventions and reporting are completed for our clients’ portfolio companies, in line with their working methods with advisors in a post-investment value creation context.
- Support ESG and impact due diligence on key ESG & impact drivers to increase value and reduce risks, providing recommendations for post-investment initiatives.
- Demonstrate knowledge of frameworks and regulations including TCFD, EU Green Deal components (SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD), the ESG Data Convergence Initiative, IRIS+, The Impact Management Project, and the Operating Principles for Impact Management.
- Show ability to identify and manage risks from conception to project delivery.
- Ensure client satisfaction through communication, engagement, quality of deliverables, and translating technical topics into commercial insights and opportunities.
- Provide leadership in engagement, decision-making, and execution.
Previous experience with climate change aspects such as GHG assessments, Science-Based Targets, net zero strategies, and decarbonization roadmaps is desirable but not required.
