Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our Manufacturing client in their search for an experienced SHE Manager. This is an exciting and impactful opportunity to take ownership of SHE compliance across multiple sites.
The Purpose of the Role
You will be the go-to expert for all things Health, Safety and Environmental across sites, ensuring full compliance while driving best practice and continuous improvement. You’ll lead the development of SHE strategies, improvement plans and compliance initiatives - including COMAH - while supporting operational teams to embed a robust safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and management of existing and future H&S plans
- Lead the development and implementation of the H&S improvement action plans
- Lead the development and implementation of our COMAH compliance plan
- Lead the development and delivery of H&S improvement projects with the operational teams
- Provide support to sites to ensure that they are compliant with company legislative H&S procedures & policies
- Lead the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001)
- Lead the development of and support the delivery of environmental & sustainability improvement projects
- Develop relationships with appropriate local regulatory agencies
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting suites that meets the requirements of local regulatory bodies
- Embed the routine monitoring, capturing, evaluation and reporting of SHE KPI’s
- Improve and embed root cause analysis of safety and environmental incidents
- Identify, develop and support systems improvements in the delivery of our H&S and Environmental management systems
- Conduct and deliver an annual management review of SHE performance
- Ensure a strong interface with operational and compliance stakeholders
Experience required:
- Proven experience in managing SHE compliance within manufacturing or process driven environment
- In-depth knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and its practical application.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain HSE management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Experience developing and delivering risk assessments, safe systems of work, and accident investigations.
- Hands-on experience managing COMAH compliance
