Data Centre Operator – Contract (12 months - Inside IR35)

Location: Cardiff

Start Date: 1st July 2025

End Date: 30th June 2026 (possible extension)

Shift Pattern: 12-hour day & night shifts (364 days/year; Christmas off)

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Data Centre Operator to support the day-to-day operations of a high-availability data centre environment. This is a critical role ensuring the seamless operation of batch processing, system monitoring, and physical site management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor systems and event-driven alerts via monitoring consoles.
  • Respond to incidents, escalating to on-call teams or vendors as required.
  • Run and monitor batch schedules using tools like Control-M and VisualCron.
  • Manage weekend release scripts and support change deployments.
  • Perform routine physical tasks (e.g., bulk printing, tape removal, temperature checks).
  • Conduct regular patrols to validate site and system availability.
  • Maintain strict adherence to security and access protocols.
