We are bound by the MoC, which means pay rates are capped. While we can pay up to £40, this rate is for those deemed to be at Qualified Social Work Practitioner level with over 2 years of experience. Candidates should be aware that the requested pay rate may not be the final offer; managers assess skills and competency at interview. If offered less than requested, feedback and reasoning will be provided.
Location – Bridge House Worthing, with travel across West Sussex and occasionally beyond.
Working arrangements – Mix of home and office work, with at least 2 days a week in the office. The worker needs to be able to conduct social supervision.
IMPORTANT: CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN FORENSIC AND LEARNING DISABILITY SETTINGS AND SOCIAL SUPERVISION, WHICH IS A SPECIFIC ROLE WITHIN FORENSICS.
Role Responsibilities:
- Undertake a full range of social work tasks independently, providing an accountable statutory social work service, including assessment, planning, reviewing, and safeguarding enquiries.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and respect, prioritising individual needs.
- Manage varied and complex cases, collaborate with other agencies, handle complex family dynamics, risk levels, and legal issues.
- Work with individuals and their families or carers to identify strengths, networks, and community assets.
- Remain compliant with legislation and organisational policies, uphold Social Work England standards, and work within legislative and organisational requirements.
- Support the Team Manager and colleagues, lead on specialist service areas, and ensure effective communication of developments.
- Lead on complex casework, provide supervision and guidance, and act as a Social Supervisor under Section 37/41 of the Mental Health Act, reporting to the Ministry of Justice.
