The Senior Finance Manager - External Reporting is a member of the team which ensures the accurate and efficient accounting, consolidation and external reporting for Whitbread PLC and subsidiary undertakings.

Location: Dunstable, hybrid - a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

What you’ll do:

  • Current external reporting disclosures are made in line with prevailing accounting standards and legal requirements.
  • Future external reporting disclosures and requirements are monitored and communicated to relevant stakeholders to ensure we are prepared ahead of being required to disclose.
  • To make sure a true and fair set of financial statements are delivered through the year-end audit process.
  • Uphold a strong and effective engagement relationship with external auditors, targeting no audit overruns.
  • Prepare and/or review accounting papers for presentation by senior stakeholders to the Audit Committee at reporting periods.
  • Ensure internal accounting policies are appropriate, fit for use by wider finance and consistent with IFRS.
  • Ensure all accounting requirements are captured and communicated to the wider finance teams.
  • Financial change management – supporting Finance implement business change projects whilst maintaining reporting accuracy and financial control.

What we need:

  • Qualified Accountant with detailed up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and experience with multi-currency consolidation processes.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and ability to communicate to a variety of senior audiences by way of technical papers and presentations.
  • Experience working with or for a large, listed business including experience of technical research on complex IFRS accounting matters and of planning and delivering audit process.
