The Opportunity: We’re looking for an Oracle Payroll Systems Specialist to join a London-based organisation to support their payroll function from a technical perspective. They were among the first to implement Oracle Cloud, so systems are well embedded and established. There are also upcoming projects to evolve and improve the systems. You’ll initially need to travel to the site for onboarding and then be expected to work in the Central London office 1-2 days per week. This is an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension, paying up to £350 per day on an Inside IR35 basis.

The Role: You’ll be the SME on the Oracle Payroll System regarding functionality and system integration. You’ll work closely with the Oracle Support Team and manage payroll system processes to ensure timely and accurate payments. Your responsibilities include monitoring and validating data submissions and returns, ensuring calculations and formatting are correct. You’ll act as the Payroll Service Business Lead on Oracle Payroll developments, responsible for functional specifications, reporting, system testing, and user acceptance testing. You will collaborate with the Oracle Support Team, sharing your payroll expertise to facilitate quick resolution of issues and tickets. You’ll play a key functional role in managing and implementing payroll processes and be responsible for employee information and data management.

The Person: The ideal candidate will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and payroll legislation; ideally, you started in payroll and became a technical expert, or come from a tech background and have become an expert in payroll systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle Payroll / Oracle HCM.
  • Overall experience within HR Information Systems, ideally Oracle.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to translate technical information for non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of Systems Analysis, User Testing, and Systems Testing.
