We are working with a Global Investment Bank on a unique and exciting new Application Support role within their Macro Rates eTrading business. You will play a critical role in supporting their new, Greenfield flagship Rates eTrading platform and be at the centre of the largest, most strategically important technology program at the organisation both in terms of investment and business impact.
This is a hands-on, front-office facing support role where you’ll be embedded within the business. The platform will be relied upon by many key users globally and you’ll be on the trading floor regularly, engaging directly with traders and product managers, troubleshooting and technically supporting with any issues that may arise. For the first 3-6 months, you will work closely with the Developers who are building the platform, so you can understand how it is knitted together from the ground-up. You will also be provided training on various aspects of the platform and be given key insights into new pipelines and migration plans.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a key production support engineer focused on the new platform, including its migration and transition projects
- Partner closely with the dev team to receive comprehensive app training and understand the architecture end-to-end
- Collaborate with development teams on code releases, testing pipelines, and enhancement delivery
- Own incident response, proactive monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure platform reliability
- Develop scripts and tooling to automate manual processes and improve resilience
- Work closely with a global support network on wider Macro system responsibilities
You’ll need:
- Proven background supporting electronic trading platforms, preferably within the Rates asset class (though knowledge in other areas is also valuable)
- Strong command of Unix/Linux environments, with hands-on ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
- Confidence working closely with Front Office teams, including Traders and Product Owners, as well as technical counterparts in Engineering
- Advantageous to have working knowledge of observability and monitoring frameworks such as Grafana, ITRS Geneos, or Elastic stack
- Solid grasp of how trading systems are architected, including interdependent components and data flows
