Pay Rate: £14.65 per hour

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Transport Operations Coordinator to oversee daily transport operations, ensure smooth coordination between drivers and management, and meet both customer and company expectations. Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from drayage, global freight forwarding & full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver Coordination: Prepare work for drivers and provide pre-briefing at the start of their shifts to ensure clarity on tasks and expectations.
  • Transport Operations Management: Coordinate on-site transport operations to meet both customer and company requirements efficiently.
  • Cost Control: Collaborate with line management to ensure the effective use of customer vehicles and subcontractors, minimizing costs while maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide daily reports on customer KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and volume calculations to monitor performance.
  • Plan Execution & Problem-Solving: Implement customer transportation plans, adjusting as needed to prevent stock-outs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all drivers are compliant with working time directive regulations. Report any accidents or incidents in a timely manner, keeping management and the customer informed.
  • First Line of Communication: Act as the first point of contact for the driver workforce, addressing their concerns and ensuring effective communication across the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Previous experience in transport operations or logistics is preferred, especially in fast-paced environments.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will liaise regularly with drivers, management, and customers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, for reporting and communication.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt and adjust in real-time to meet customer needs and minimize disruptions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of industry regulations, including working time directives and safety protocols.
