We are Rolls-Royce SMR and we’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.
We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Cyber & ICS Security Specialist, to be involved in an industry-leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station. Rolls-Royce SMR Ltd (Rolls-Royce SMR) is designing a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) to deliver a market-driven, affordable and low-carbon power generation capability. It is currently putting the design of its SMR through the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) as the Requesting Party (RP).
The Regulator’s assessment of the SMR considers the design in terms of a combined Environmental, Safety, Security and Safeguards (E3S) Case, which includes the Generic Security Report. For GDA, the role of the Nuclear Security Design team is to produce a design for the protection systems in the nuclear power station and a body of evidence that demonstrates compliance with the ONR regulations, which is summarised by the Generic Security Report.
The Cyber and ICS Security Lead is a key role in Rolls-Royce SMR’s strategy to apply cyber security to its power station design. They will lead the design of the cyber protection systems, and the assurance that Computer-Based systems are sufficiently protected within the design. You will also manage the application of the generic design to site-specific design, and ensure consistency is maintained.
You will develop methodologies to verify and validate that systems are built, installed and commissioned according to the design, and that the security protection of the Computer-Based systems do not degrade over time.
Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we’ll let you in on a secret: there’s no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. If you feel you meet 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you. Also, if you are considering a career move or a sector-jump, please get in touch, we welcome applications from people with transferable skills.
