Pure Search are instructed on a rare and exciting opportunity with one of the leading UK law firms who are looking to grow their highly-ranked Arbitration practice with two hires at 2-4PQE.

The Firm: Our client has consistently been recognised for the strength of their Litigation and Arbitration practice, specialising in a range of high-value and complex international disputes. The Arbitration team covers both commercial and investor-state arbitrations and is a firm that hugely punches above its weight, particularly in relation to disputes in the UK, Middle East, Latin America and Africa. In particular, the team often acts on both sides of the fence in investor state arbitrations, providing a more rounded perspective strategically.

The Role: Building on your existing international arbitration experience, you will be exposed to a range of ICC, LCIA, SIAC and ICSID arbitrations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking initial instructions, establishing suitability of the matter and reviewing documentation;
  • Drafting statements of case, witness statements and application documents;
  • Liaising with the client around fee structures at all stages, pre and post proceedings;
  • Instructing counsel and experts, where required;
  • Assisting with evidentiary hearings and interim application hearings.

This is a rare chance to join a well-balanced and collegiate but heavyweight arbitration practice involved in some of the most high-profile disputes globally.

About You: You will be an England & Wales qualified Solicitor with at least 18-24 months experience, up to 4PQE, in international arbitration. You could have gained experience in a pure arbitration role or a mixed litigation/arbitration role where arbitration has formed a strong part of your practice. You will have a good grasp of contract, tort and commercial law and experience in applying core arbitration laws in respect of the validity of agreements to arbitrate.
