The Royal Voluntary Service is a historic charity that mobilises volunteers to support individuals, local communities and public health services across the UK. We’re currently undergoing a significant digital transformation programme and as part of this work, we’re at the early stages of developing a cutting-edge greenfield platform to ignite a volunteering revolution.
The Product Manager will own the roadmap for part of RVS’s first digital product. This is a key role, with responsibility for what goes into the roadmap, in what sequence. The Product Manager will be part of the Product and Design team who will look after the product requirements and design; and will also be the link between Product and Engineering, to structure and prioritise development sprints.
The Product Manager, alongside the Product Lead and the Tech Lead, will help to define the best process for product management, and will be instrumental in setting up ways of working for product management, in an organisation which has not previously built digital products. This role will also face into the wider organisation of RVS, supporting business and service teams who may want to propose features for the roadmap, and help them understand the product design build and maintenance lifecycle.
Location: This role is Home based with occasional national travel
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

What you’ll bring as our Product Manager:
Knowledge:
- Expertise in Product Management, ideally in a mix of B2C and B2B contexts
- Expertise in defining and understanding future opportunities and translating to product features
- A strong understanding of Agile development practices and methodologies.
Skills:
- Ability to assist senior stakeholders in prioritising a roadmap by completing effective analysis and efficiently communicating findings
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities, workloads and objectives in accordance with agreed deadlines.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to lead and support project management to include prioritising multiple activities, workloads and objectives.
- Visio, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, JIRA (or similar), Notion (or similar)
Experience:
- Three years Product Manager experience.
- Substantial professional experience in gathering and analysing requirements from various sources to enable data driven decision making.
- Strong experience in data analysis, design and integration, cloud solutions design and data management.
- Experience of delivering change and communicating complex issues clearly.
