Our client is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
As a Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of designing efficient, high-performing systems including Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Tri Generation, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will manage projects from concept through to commissioning, delivering Megawatt-scale products that maximise energy efficiency—up to 95% utilisation.
Your key responsibilities:
- Produce detailed design documentation including specifications, P&IDs, PFDs, and technical reports
- Size and specify mechanical components including pumps and pipework
- Lead CAD design activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Support project delivery teams with on-site surveys and troubleshooting
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and project managers to meet quality and budget targets
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health and safety standards
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and capable Mechanical Engineer who brings hands-on experience and technical flair. You’ll need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in energy projects and technical management
- Competence in pipework and ventilation design, and safety assessments
- A relevant HNC/D or degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with AutoCAD 3D and Microsoft Office
- A full, valid driving licence
