Director - ServiceNow Data Architect

Accountabilities

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data models aligned with ServiceNow platform requirements.
• Collaborate with platform architecture, business, and partner teams to translate business requirements into data architecture solutions.
• Develop data strategies for integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems.
• Design data governance policies, including data quality, security, and compliance standards.
• Implement and maintain the ServiceNow CSDM architecture according to standard methodologies.
• Define and maintain ServiceNow CIs and their attributes in the CSDM.
• Plan and manage data integrations between ServiceNow and other systems.
• Collaborate with data analysts to define reporting requirements and design data models for actionable insights.
• Provide expert mentorship on data-related issues and ensure alignment with long-term business goals.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Demonstrated ability in data architecture, with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience specifically with ServiceNow.
• Proficient in ServiceNow data schema and architecture, including tables, fields, and relationships.
• Solid experience in data modeling, database design, and management of data systems.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with enterprise data warehouse, reporting and visualization solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Teradata, Tableau).
• Familiarity with ServiceNow modules like ITSM, ITOM, and HR Service Delivery.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data privacy, and security protocols.
• Solid grasp of data quality, correctness and completeness related metrics and controls.
• Knowledge of industry standard methodologies for data management and integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to solve data issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical collaborators.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
• Solid experience and knowledge in CSDM & CMDB & ITOM.
• Extensive experience in CMDB & CSDM operational experience in a large environment.
• Hands-on experience in performing Application and Service mapping using ServiceNow tools, reporting and discovery capabilities.
• Understanding and hands-on experience of ServiceNow discovery for Services (hardware extended), network (network extended), printers, database instances and web applications.
• Experience with, and knowledge of, the ITIL framework as well as ITSM with focus on ServiceNow CSDM.
• Experience designing and implementing CSDM architectures and workflows.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and/or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
• Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics or other BI/analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Typically, a ServiceNow Data Architect would have 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, and ServiceNow administration, with an overall experience of 8+ years.
• A deep understanding of data architecture principles is essential, along with hands-on experience with ServiceNow and database management.
• Experience in demonstrating AI for work processes or decision-making is highly desirable.
