The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, motivated Junior Occupational Therapist who has a passion for patient care, a willingness to develop their skills, and a drive to provide the best possible treatment for their patients. The Trust uses only the Direct Engagement Method of Payment.
Duties:
- Deliver therapeutic assessments and treatments to assigned clients within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Actively participate in planning, executing, and evaluating interventions for patients referred to the Brent Rapid Response Service under the guidance of an experienced senior therapist.
- As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, contribute to reducing hospital admissions and ensuring optimal home-based care for patients.
- Work across diverse settings, including care homes, residential units, and patient homes, focusing on developing foundational skills and expertise in Occupational Therapy.
- Assist the Senior Occupational Therapist in supervising and providing planned advice, teaching, support, and instruction to therapy assistants, key workers, relatives, and carers.
- Promote understanding of the aims of therapy intervention and ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals on joint assessments, setting patient goals, and treatment programs using a patient-centred approach.
- Independently undertake comprehensive assessment plans and formulate individual management or treatment programs, incorporating analytical, investigative, organisational, and time management skills, as well as a range of physical and cognitive assessment skills.
Skills:
- Relevant work experience in a variety of clinical settings.
- Evidence of up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
- Use of functional and cognitive assessments.
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the profession.
- Basic knowledge of health legislation, current practice, risk assessment, and management.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage time/caseload effectively.
- Understanding of team dynamics and good interpersonal skills.
