Service Care Solutions is working alongside a growing local authority, based in Gloucestershire, which is seeking an experienced Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their legal team. If successful, you will lead by example, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, and play a vital role in shaping the future of the council’s service.
Role: Senior Planning and Highways Lawyer
Umbrella Rate: £55-£60ph
PAYE inc. rate: £48.41-£52.76ph
Location: Gloucestershire – agile working
Contract Length: 6 months ongoing
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Planning and Highways Lawyer role:
- Handle a mixed caseload of complex planning and highways law.
- Deputise for the Principal Lawyer and Legal Services Business Partner and supervise a group of lawyers.
- Play an active role in developing and delivering training to client officers and members of the Council and provide advice bulletins and guidance notes.
- Identify income opportunities for the future benefit of the service.
Required Skills:
- A qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister with 3+ years of PQE in Planning and Highways law.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor a team of lawyers.
- Experience of working in the public sector is not necessary but would be advantageous.
