Interim Financial Controller

Our client, a well-established, consumer-focused, multi-site business headquartered in the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join their leadership team. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the international group business team, you will play a crucial role in supporting strategic initiatives, guiding financial operations, and driving transformation activities across the division.

Location: West Midlands (2-3 days p/w onsite)

Contract length: 6 months +

Candidate Rate: 600-700 per day (outside IR35)

• Conduct a thorough review of the current finance team structure, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, capabilities, and collaboration.
• Lead the delivery of cost initiatives and transformation projects to enhance operational effectiveness and support sustainable growth.
• Work closely with commercial and FP&A teams to ensure successful monthly close.
• Ensure strong financial controls, accurate forecasting, and transparent reporting to aid in seamless statutory filings and group reporting.
• Lead, support, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous learning, inclusivity, and high performance.

Essential requirements of the Interim Financial Controller:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
• Experienced Finance Controller with a successful track record in working in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transformation projects, cost-saving initiatives, and team development.
• Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to balance strategic focus with operational hands-on involvement.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performing team environment.
