Job Role – Health & Safety Officer An exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to join a growing team. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the Health & Safety function of the facility , working closely with a strong management team throughout. Job security along with continuous training and development The Role: Effective implementation of a robust health and safety management system which complements the business and satisfies operational and legislative requirements Establish a pro-active approach, promote a positive safety culture and ensure all employees and external visitors are compliant with H&S policies and practices, through internal communication and training Advise and support each site management team in developing and delivering H&S plan, depending on needs and requirements Work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries Undertake risk assessments and continuously review to ensure that they remain relevant to company procedures and any control measures are actioned Develop safe working procedures and communicate with relevant employees Maintain COSHH register in accordance with legislative requirements, providing relevant information, instruction and training to employees Compile site audits/inspections and ensure any concerns are highlighted to management and outcomes actioned Implement a non-compliance register and review with management on a frequent basis Investigate all accidents, near misses, non-compliance occurrences and complete future preventative actions Complete fire safety procedures including fire drills, fire alarm testing etc. Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of HSE regulations and guidance Any other relevant responsibilities as required Essential Criteria: Previous experience in similar role NEBOSH qualification This is a multi-site role with travel between sites required so full driving licence is essential Desirable Criteria: Experience within the engineering/manufacturing sector Train the trainer qualification The Person Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated individual who takes responsibility in ensuring tasks are prioritised and completed efficiently Good organisational and time management skills What to do next Click on the link to apply Reach out to Shane @ Hunter Savage for further information.
