The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records in SAP, reflecting all stock movements between co-packers and third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses. This includes recording receipts, dispatches, adjustments, and write-offs, as well as reconciling monthly stock reports from 3PLs against SAP records. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities- Stock Movement Recording: Accurately record all stock movements in SAP, including receipts, dispatches, adjustments, and write-offs, ensuring alignment with physical transactions between co-packers and 3PL warehouses.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile end-of-month stock reports from 3PL warehouses against SAP records, identify and investigate discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments in the system.
- Inventory Adjustments: Process inventory adjustments in SAP as required, ensuring that all changes are documented and authorized.
- Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with co-packers, 3PL warehouses, and internal teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate stock reporting.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular inventory reports, highlighting key metrics, discrepancies, and any necessary corrective actions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory management, and support internal and external audits as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve inventory management processes and controls.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Ideally, chilled supply chain experience.
- Experience with SAP / SAP B1 inventory management modules is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices related to stocks.
- Ability to handle large amounts of data efficiently.
- Advanced (no VBA) Excel skills essential.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of transactions accurately.
