Enso Recruitment is working on behalf of a pioneering technology company to find an experienced Senior Security Engineer who is ready to take ownership of complex challenges within a high-performing cybersecurity team. This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. The role offers the chance to make a genuine impact on the organisation’s security posture by contributing to the design and implementation of robust security frameworks. You’ll be working closely with teams across the business and acting as a subject matter expert, helping to promote a strong security-first mindset throughout the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations related to threat detection, malware defense, security monitoring, forensics, and data protection.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and continual improvement of security policies and standards.
  • Managing relationships with external vendors and third-party service providers across areas such as SOC, EDR, and vulnerability testing.
  • Enhancing cloud security across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and productivity suites like Office 365.
  • Leading investigations into cybersecurity incidents and guiding the response with clear analysis and remediation steps.
  • Collaborating with infrastructure and networking teams to define and enforce patching and mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluating and refining existing security infrastructure to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for security systems, tools, and procedures.
  • Providing advanced (3rd line) technical support and mentoring other IT and security team members.

Who should apply?

Essential experience:

  • A minimum of five years in a security-focused engineering or analyst position.
  • Strong technical grounding in system, network, and application security.
  • Proficiency in security infrastructure such as firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, routing protocols, and LAN/WAN setups.
  • Familiarity with security architecture, cryptography, authentication methods, and security protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and tune security monitoring tools and technologies.
  • A broad understanding of threat landscapes and mitigation techniques.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.

Desirable skills:

  • Security certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Scripting or automation in security contexts.
  • Understanding of Cisco network environments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial operations.
