A high-performing, specialist lender is looking for a Business Development Director to spearhead origination, underwriting and deal execution across a diverse portfolio of property-backed loans. This is a senior front-office position at a dynamic and well-capitalised lender operating in the London and South East real estate markets. You will have the autonomy to originate your own transactions, take them through detailed underwriting, and lead them all the way to completion – while working alongside a highly experienced team and an enviable funding base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate new lending opportunities across bridging, development, and investment loans (up to £100m).
  • Own deals from initial borrower engagement through credit underwriting and execution.
  • Structure bespoke finance solutions across the capital stack (senior, mezzanine, stretch, etc.).
  • Underwrite facilities with a credit-first mindset, presenting to internal committees and investors.
  • Liaise directly with developers, brokers, advisors, and solicitors throughout the process.
  • Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective clients, constantly hunting for new opportunities.
  • Work closely with portfolio management to ensure smooth handover and long-term performance of loans.
