Our first AR glasses, Next Generation, bring augmented reality to life. We are looking for an AR Optical Development Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc. What you’ll do: Help transfer designs and processes to contract manufacturers & partners Understand optical experimental methodology and have experience in an optical lab environment Analyze process data from manufacturers and support failure analysis Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong optical engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing and processes Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs Prototyping and analysis of opto-mechanical designs Minimum Qualifications: BSc in Physics, Optics, or relevant engineering experience Experience transferring optical designs to manufacturers Proficiency with optical (e.g., Zemax) and mechanical (e.g., SolidWorks) design software Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years experience in optical engineering or a PhD in physics, optics, or engineering Understanding of manufacturing processes Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping Experience in display testing, image quality evaluation, colorimetry, and radiometry Experience with AR/VR systems and micro displays Understanding of polarising and diffractive optics Software skills (e.g., Python, LabView) If you have a disability or special need, please provide us with some accommodations.
