Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Yacht Manager to oversee the operational, financial, and administrative management of vessels in the fleet. The ideal candidate will ensure that all aspects of yacht operations are handled efficiently and to the highest standards, providing seamless service to yacht owners and delivering an exceptional experience for guests and crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of one or more yachts.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards (ISM, ISPS, and MLC).
  • Coordinate yacht movements, itineraries, and berth bookings.
  • Liaise with captains, crew, and shore-based staff to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Crew Management:
  • Assist with crew recruitment, hiring, contracts, and appraisals.
  • Provide guidance on crew training, certifications, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with flag state and maritime employment regulations.
  • Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for yachts under management.
  • Monitor expenses, approve expenditures, and ensure cost control.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyse cost-efficiency, and provide forecasts for yacht owners.
  • Maintenance and Technical Oversight:
  • Plan and coordinate routine maintenance, refits, and repairs.
  • Oversee technical operations, ensuring equipment and systems are in optimal condition.
  • Source and manage external contractors and suppliers.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain all yacht documentation, licenses, and certifications in accordance with flag and class regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime insurance policies and manage claims if necessary.
  • Client Relations and Owner Support:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for yacht owners and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on yacht performance, operations, and any significant matters.
  • Deliver personalized service to meet owners\’ expectations and lifestyle requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Onboard experience in either a Captain or HOD role
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in yacht management, marine operations, or a similar role ashore
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maritime regulations, ISM, ISPS, and MLC codes.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and expense management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software for fleet management and reporting.
  • A valid STCW certification or other maritime qualifications (preferred).
