Job Details
Working pattern: You will be expected to be in the office at least 3 days a week or more if business requires it. You will be required to work flexibly including some evenings, weekends, and occasional public holidays in order to meet service requirements, and in order to ensure appropriate representation of the Council with residents, the Mayor and elected members, and external bodies.
Job Description: This is a senior leadership role in the office of Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, Directly Elected Mayor of the London Borough of Newham. The role will lead and manage all core support functions for the Mayor while we implement a new structure and way of working for the Mayor’s Office. The successful post holder will join a fast paced office and have an active leadership role in managing and developing the team and ensuring the provision of high quality support to the Mayor and her Cabinet.
Key outputs will include:
- Ensuring all strategic and administration support processes are operating effectively and efficiently and introducing improvements where required.
- Working closely with the Mayor’s Interim Senior Strategic Advisor to provide leadership to the office.
