We are looking for a skilled and reliable Tech Surveyor to support our growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. Working on a subcontractor basis, you will carry out site surveys for solar PV, battery storage, and associated systems, providing the technical data and design input needed to ensure accurate and high-quality installations. You will also be responsible for amending proposal designs and completing detailed survey reports using our CRM and design platforms. This is a field-based role ideal for someone with industry experience, a strong technical understanding and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site surveys for solar PV and battery storage installations (domestic and commercial)
- Take roof measurements, assess structure, shading, access and cable routes
- Capture detailed technical data and upload via CRM and survey tools
- Amend proposal designs based on survey findings, using design platforms (training provided)
- Complete survey reports with supporting photos and accurate notes
- Communicate clearly with customers during site visits, representing the business professionally
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure survey findings are actioned correctly in the installation process
Requirements
- Proven experience in the electrical or solar industry is essential
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel regionally to customer sites
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable using technology, mobile apps, and CRM/design software
- Experience with solar design tools and CRM platforms (desirable, but training will be provided)
- Must have own tools and equipment suitable for surveying (e.g., ladder, tablet etc.)
