Alongside academic opportunities through classroom-based, remote, and online learning, we also offer vocational opportunities. We have an opportunity for a Teacher to join our team at Pebble Academy Muirkirk, East Ayrshire and build life-changing relationships with our pupils. The role offers you the ability to make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable young people between the ages of 11 and 18, responding to their individual needs to help them thrive. What we offer you A salary of £38,655-£43,218 per annum, pro rata, plus benefits. Annual leave is in line with national entitlement and reflects the relevant local authority’s annual leave. Auto-enrolment to the Company pension scheme. Life assurance. Your hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Your contact time with learners is 22.5 hours per week and a flexible work pattern can be applied to your other hours of work, including remote based working. The Essential qualities we look for Educated to degree level with undergraduate/postgraduate teaching qualification. Secondary school teaching experience. Desire to work with pupils who have experienced trauma and challenge. Must have a current valid driving license. PVG enhanced. Full registration with General Teaching Council for Scotland. Right to work in UK. The Desirable qualities we look for Knowledge of theoretical approaches to Adverse Childhood Experiences, mental health, attachment, therapeutic parenting, etc. and able to apply to everyday practice. Experience of teaching and assessing pupils with Additional Support Needs, or the desire to undertake professional learning to gain skills in this area. Experience of formulating flexible curricula for ‘hard-to-reach’ pupils.
