The role focuses on delivering our current strategy and expanding our impact and resources, including driving ECU’s fundraising, supporting senior management in programme delivery, ensuring sound financial and risk management, and implementing governance development plans.

We seek an experienced senior civil society leader, preferably with prior executive director experience in a small to medium-sized civil society organisation. Key skills include:

  • A strong track record in fundraising from trusts and foundations
  • Experience in programmatic management
  • Governance
  • Understanding of UK politics
  • Experience in national campaigning and public policy
  • Experience in anti-oppression practices in civil society

You should demonstrate understanding of and commitment to ECU’s purpose and values, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster inclusive, collaborative cultures within organisations, coalitions, and movements.
