Position Description Reporting directly to the Business Development (Ire) Manager, ESB ecars BD team is responsible for generating and tracking new business leads, progressing them through ESBs internal governance processes and bringing contracts and leases to conclusion before handing over to the Infrastructure Delivery team for execution. The successful candidate will manage ESB ecars site sourcing and development interests and ensure the delivery of key targets during the expansion and upgrade of ESB ecars business in line with our strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead in seeking, sourcing and developing, in line with pre-defined criteria, strategic and relevant sites across Northern Ireland, for building out ESBs rapid charging infrastructure network. Lead in deal structuring aspects necessary to deliver on the successful commercialisation of ESBs electromobility business, structuring innovative commercial relationships in an emerging area specific to land/host/site targets to realise and deliver a private deals pipeline. Contract manage any third-party suppliers/consultants engaged for the purpose of delivering on the above. As an active team member, ensure that the Business Development team works effectively to create and deliver a significant pipeline of robust opportunities to underpin an ESB electromobility business of scale. Work closely with ESB Legal Property Team, ESB ecars Commercial, Infrastructure and Finance Teams to originate and negotiate these business arrangements and to secure leases that deliver and maximise value for ESB. Keep abreast of all funding opportunities in the jurisdiction and work with internal teams to maximise all external funding opportunities. Identify, develop and maintain strong working relationships with key external clients incl. Local Authorities and partners up to executive level to ensure ESB ecars are aware of both market developments and that relationships are developed to capture emerging opportunities w.r.t Site location owners, energy industry and other key influencers. Identify suitable potential freehold acquisitions of development sites for conversion to EV charging hubs with retail and/or food and beverage partners. Continually monitor and report on market trends, potential opportunities, and competitor activities in the public EV charging landscape. Work closely with the ecars Bid Manager for any and all public tenders and PQQs for EV charging in line with ecars strategy in this region. Experience& Qualifications Essential Proven track record of successful negotiation and management of infrastructure site acquisitions, wayleaves and land/lease agreements. Strong knowledge and understanding of planning, property, environmental and way leaving. Strong commercial acumen and business understanding. Strong customer relations focus allied to robust understanding and awareness of commercial implications of project timelines, costing and works scheduling. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Excellent customer relationship management, effective communication skills and ability to implement suitable business processes. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and other Customer Solutions businesses such as Smart Energy Services, to deliver overall company objectives. A relevant 3rd level qualification (technical or commercial) or equivalent work experience A minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant industry experience in site negotiations and site acquisition. Desirable Knowledge of wholesale or retail electricity markets would be an advantage but not essential. Familiarity with the EV charging market is highly desirable An innovative and strategic thinker with good problem-solving skills Attention to detail and good organisational skills Location Northern Ireland in line with ESBs Smart Working arrangements.
