Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington – 3 Days On site
Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time
The Role: This is a contract role expected to last between 6 – 12 months with the successful candidate designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Generate engineering drawings.
- Perform engineering design calculations, e.g., perform tolerance stack-up analysis, bolted joint.
- Preparation of engineering design reports.
- Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience designing castings, machined parts, and fabrications.
- Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency in NX software.
- Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
- Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping, and structures would be helpful but not essential.
- Experience using Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
